DR 4.5" kit rear block questions

For those of you who have a DR 4.5" kit which block did you use and does the X sit level? DR now includes a 6" block with their kit, they used to supply a 5" block . I would like to order the blocks today but now I am unsure which ones to get. Also did you need any driveshaft mods with this kit?

Thanks, Cary

Re: DR 4.5" kit rear block questions

I think I have the same lift. I know it as the Edge 4.5 drop down kit. It seems like the front is a tad higher than the rear. I put the lift in right after I bought the X. They said with the diesel that it would sag fairly soon in the front. I haven't seen much sag yet.

Re: DR 4.5" kit rear block questions

We have that lift with the 5" block in the rear now, but will be switching to the 6" soon. It sits pretty much level, but at times appears rear end low. Plus we tow a little in the summer and will probably squat and look bad.

Re: DR 4.5" kit rear block questions

Thanks Hitch, I was told it would sit about 1/2" low with the 5" block by SQHD. In the near future I will add a Winch bumper and if money allows a 15-16K winch . Thats why I was conserned about the rear blocks. I would like it to set level with the front end adds. Also my wife isn't real happy with lifting the X , I just keep telling her that it will ride better. If I ever tow I will go to air bags or change out rear springs to SD's. I now have 2 sets of SD f250-350 rear springs to play with .

Re: DR 4.5" kit rear block questions

Cary, I have the 3" leveling w/ 4" block and mine sits 1/2" so I think I'm going to 5" block. If this helps any

Re: DR 4.5" kit rear block questions

Dam, that sounds like I need to go with the 6" blocks then. Unless your front or rear springs are rated different than my 04 I should have got a 3" kit but I got a such a great deal on this used 4.5" kit .

Re: DR 4.5" kit rear block questions

I bet if you measure the wheel wells, you'll find out they are about the same. I think the back of the X slopes down a bit and gives the impression it rides rear low.

I went with the 5" blocks so we will see. I hope to install the kit next weekend.
