driveline vibration

I just installed a procomp 6 inch lift to my excursion. This created some driveline vibration at around 60mph. We installed a cv joint thinking this would solve my problem. My 60mph vibration is gone but I now have a small vibration at 30mph. My local driveline shop is hinting that they may not be able to fix it. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it? Re: driveline vibration

Check and make sure you have tappered blocks in the rear. If there flat, change them so the pinion angle is the same as drive line. This fixed my problem after new CV was put in. Good Luck!

Re: driveline vibration

1) make sure that your driveshaft is rigged to be -2 degrees (pinion nose down. shim as required.

2) with a dial indicator, measure the axial runnout of both the transfer case flange and the axle flange. should not be more tha 0.004". if higher, you might want to have the flanges machined.

3) with a dial indicator, find the high spot on the flanges. Does it match the yellow paint stripe? If not, remark it.

hopefully this will help you figure out what is going on
