Drivers seat (bottom) leather/vinyl replacement?

All, my seat has finally worn thru. I am wondering if I just need the bottom leather/vinyl portion of the seat, would it be cheaper to buy from Ford, Ebay, Automotive custom interior, salvage yard, etc. or does someone know of a place that is reasonable?

Thanks,

Re: Drivers seat (bottom) leather/vinyl replacement?

You could try one of the site sponsors, powerstrokeshop.com. I see they have the leather seat bottom cover listed for $272. List price is $381.

Re: Drivers seat (bottom) leather/vinyl replacement?

Local upholstry shop said they would rebuild my lowers and re-dye both front seats to like new for less than $500. They can order the exact color and texture leather the seats are made from. I just have to find time to do without it for a day.

Re: Drivers seat (bottom) leather/vinyl replacement?

I replaced mine recently. The dealership charged me $230 for part and installation. The seat looks 100% better.

Re: Drivers seat (bottom) leather/vinyl replacement?

What about the driver side arm rest? I have pointy elbows and I creased it to the point that cracks developed. How is it removed if it can be fixed?
