I've noticed this condition on my XLT also. Hasn't really caused any discomfort to me, but it is strange that the seat isn't aligned with the steering wheel!

I think this may apply to Limited's only. My drivers seat back leans toward the passenger seat and the seat cushion is closer to the center console. You find yourself sitting with the left leg on top of the seat cushion bolster with the knee hitting the drivers door. If you sit centered in the seat, the steering wheel does not line up with the upper body. So it leads to the driver always sitting more toward the left side of the seat which is uncomfortable on long trips.
If you center yourself you are not lined up with the air bag.
Oddly enough, I've read that most cars and trucks are this way. And if you look at people when they drive, they are almost never exactly in the middle of their seats. I dunno why this happens...
Noticed that on mine soon after purchase. What do you expect when you only pay $40,000.00 for a vehicle?? I could name a few other things that one might expect but I'm not going there. I still love my Ex.
Just thought I'd point it out. My dealer says this is normal for the Excursion. The seat cushion leather does not meet the seat back and you see about 2 inches of fabric. Ford must not use the same supplier for the Expedition. The seats in my wifes EB Expedition are much better quality and line up with the steering wheel. I thought there may be a safety issue with frontal impact. If you're not square to the air bag, there could be a chance for additional injury. This is a thought, any safety engineers looking in might have a scientific explanation.
Man you guys never owned a Pantera, probably one of the fastest most uncomfortable production cars ever built. You had to rap your legs around the inner wheel well to reach the peddles. The steering wheel was about 3+ inches off center and tilted towards center. My 01 EX is off a little but very acceptable. Wish they would of had a split bench seat option. cliffsurfs
In my 68 Cougar the steering wheel is very close to the body even with seat all the way back. I'm furthest away when I hit 2nd gear and the torque of the 390 pushes me back into the seat.
