When I accelerate hard (almost WOT) from a dead stop my 04/04 6.0 X has a slight rumble in the drivetrain. Seems to go away once it shifts into second and goes through the rest of the gears quite nicely.
Anyone else notice this with their X?
Anyone know what it may be?

My 2000 model does it. Not sure what it is, but I'm not losing sleep. It's still under warranty, but I figure they would screw it up worse if they tried fo fix it.

Have noticed this "rumble" also occurs when accelerating while on the fly. Seems to disappear once the mass of the big beast gets up to speed.
I do not suspect a driveshaft balance issue as it is super smooth unless my foot is in it.
Looking for confirmation from others that this is not unique to my X. I recall one of the PSD 6.0 X's I test drove before ordering felt the same.
Looking for any ideas on what it could be. It's been too cold here in the Northeast to get under the truck and blindly nose around. I sure as heck do not want to take it to the dealer as I know they will be of no help and could create some new problem if I let them touch it.
Other than this rumble it seems to run perfect. It does romp a little on start up when cold if not plugged in but I expect that of a diesel. Idles perfect when warm.

Just kicking this question back out there to see if anyone new will respond.

I don't have firsthand experience yet but the local drive train guy, good rep, hangs at the local BIG ford dealer and tells me that they're changing out alot of new rear ends...might be good to have ford check it out...don't know if a TSB is out yet.
If the rear end assembly isn't leaking or doing anything obvious Ford is unlikely going to do much unfortunately
