Easy fishing pole rack

I made this very easy fishing pole rack for the Excursion. As you can see it is easy and cheap to make. Took me maybe 15 minutes to make and install.
YOu just pull the moulding out with your fingers to get the modified tarp bungee cord material in. The front is just a bungee cord stretched between the hand-holds for the second row seats.
As you can see in the last picture(the top one) the cord in the rear is out of the way when not in use. The front bungee cord I store in the rear stowage area out of the way but there when I need it.

Sure beats those $100+ racks that get in the way!
Start at bottom and work your way up. Hope you can view them.

Re: Easy fishing pole rack

One word of caution. Your rods will sway and bounce quite a bit in rough terrain. But if they move too much for your likings it hasn't cost you much of anything or you can figure out how to brace them up a bit better.
On the road they ride quite well and are very easily removed and put back in. This is great for trout fishing as we seem to go from spot to spot quite a bit and not having to break the pole down to move is a great help. Also not having them laying on your other gear is a plus too.

Re: Easy fishing pole rack

Thanks for the tip and great idea! I sure could have used that on my last trip to AR. I bet to hold them tighter to the ceiling you could take a hook end bungee, cut and shorten it, then wrap it around the middle of the pole and hook it into the air vents up there.
Thanks Dr. Billz!
