I can say, that there is an improvement in the ride but not as much as I had expected. To be fair, I have only done about 15 miles in town, no dirt or bumpy roads. Install was easy. The one problem I ran into was that I received a front shock in a rear shock box. Of course didnt know this until the last shock and was ready to install. Seems like I read somewhere where this happened before??? Anyway I was lucky and even though I had ordered these, the shop happened to have one in on another order so they swapped and the install is done. Pleased for now with all the mods.

They are great.
Installed my new shocks yesterdayand they are really great. I live down a 3 mile dirt road and about 6 miles of Hard sufface road. Both of the roads are rough and bumpie as hell. The difference between the dirt road and the hard surface road is that one has dust and the other doesn't...Anyway it's a good test and the shocks can through with flying colors. The ride was much improved and the sway is almost completely gone.
Hookem & PoloBR---from your signatures, you're both riding on BFG 295's---are you both on the stock wheel that came w/the EX?? What did you pay for the tires, and where did you get 'em?? Do they, in fact, fill the wheel well better than the OEM tires?? Do they rub the mud guards??
thanks,
aces

After having them on for a few days now and driving various road conditions I will say I am impressed. Seems to hold the road better and the roll is almost entirely gone. Combined with improvement of the 550 springs these were two great mods.
Aces full- Yes my 295's are on the stock rim. The dealer dropped my truck off at a custom shop that was putting in leather seats and they charged me $300.00 and kept the Firestones that came with the truck. They definately "fill" the wheel well. The drivers side rubbed slightly early on when fully turned but that went away after a few thousand miles.

aces full- The springs provided ~2 inch lift to the front so that it is now level. The front end replacement had lowered the front somewhat. The ride is slightly firmer. (I prefer this) Also, I have not experienced the bottoming out that I had before. I bought the spings from a local dealer a little over $300 for springs/bolts/nuts and did the install with father in law ~ 4 hrs. Some folks have done this quite a bit faster but I usually make these kind of jobs harder than they need to be.

Hookem
Could you give me the part number for the 550 springs you used? I went to my Ford dealer to order them and was told that there were many part numbers for 550 springs. I am familiar with the V, W, and X spring codes and was wondering if I could achieve the same leveling but get a softer or harder ride from different ratings. Great Site!!!

Texcursion- F81Z 5310 AG is the pn for the springs. These are "X code" If you will do a search in the upgrades forum for MY SPECIAL 2" FRONT LIFT you will get info from everone that has done this.

Based on what I have read here at F-D.com, with any performance modification I believe that the gauges are necessary. I do not have them...(yet) I have been unable to find anyone in the Austin area who will install. (I do not pride myself on my electrical/mechanical abilities.) I have read where some people w/PPIII have relatively low EGT's and others who have claimed that they can get to 1300 pretty quick. I have tried to use common sense when towing/passing to avoid dangerously high EGT's. Anyway I plan to head to Lubbock here sometime to let DIS do the install. Hopefully I can time it with the upcomming pheasant season and get in a good hunt while they work on my truck. Along with the A-pillar and pyro/boost/trans temp I also want the TTM/BriteBox/APCM installed.
