As I understand it, the display on the Edge Evolution II shows the parameters from sensors that otherwise you would need to install gauges in order to see.
Has anyone installed this programmer? How well does that guage function work? Does it integrate well with the rest of the dashboard?
I haven't even bought my X, but I've already got the first five mods planned out...
I've purchased an Edge Evo II from DP Tuner with DP's codes programed in. I have a good fried that has an F-150 with the Evo II installed on his and it's pretty slick, with 10-11 different readings available.
I hear Analog gauges are the most accurate but for me I like the digital interface and gauges more, along with the flexibility.

I just installed the Edge Evo this morning and am still awaiting the pod that fits the Excursion. RUN, don't walk, to the phone and order this thing from DP Tuner. I just set it to the Economy 80 tune and changed the CPS and took it for a spin. A whole new truck with better fuel econ (20.1 MPG according to the "lie-o-meter" compared to a 13.9 MPG reading from the same)
This is without the Tymar Intake that I'll install tomorrow along with a new 4" Exhaust from Diamond Eye. I'm stoked. The gauges work really well. Plus, you can delete error codes to boot.

Well I put it in last weekend
overall I like it, will be putting on some "econo-mode" miles this weekend. I like the programability of the juice module.
I am getting an occasional fuel sesor foalt combined with low injection module valtage, always both faults at the same time and just after or at start up have not put my finger on what I am doing to cause this. I have not had a problem after start up.

bruce, did u get the tuner from DP?? My fathers X is crying for one after 3 days of ownership How was the install? can you really monitor all the things they have listed :
.Able to adjust shift points/pressure
• Adjustable speed/rev limiter
RPM (revolutions per minute) – Engine speed.
• MPH (miles per hour) – Note: Dash display may be +/-3 MPH off from the digital display due to mechanical differences in the spring, etc. used to control the gauge.
• BST (Boost Pressure) - PSI
• EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp) – Degrees F.
• EOT (Engine oil temperature) – Degrees F.
• TFT (Transmission fluid temperature) – Degrees F. (Automatic Trans ONLY. If you have a manual trans, the value displayed will be incorrect)
• IAT (Intake air temperature) – Degrees F.
• BARO (Barometric pressure) – PSI
• BAT (Battery voltage)
• DTC (Diagnostic trouble code count)
Really curious???
No I have the Juice Platinum with the Attitude monted on the dash with the edge pod.
Anyone know where to get the charcoal gray black paint to match the IP black?
Programability is fantastic.
It does throw two codes some of the time when I use the cool down mode, one of the features I bought it for.
In the higher modes it adds a good bit of power and makes it almost fun to drive.
The code problems is solved by setting it to clear all codes on start up. As I read it any code that occurs during running is still available at the push of a few buttons.
As far as saving on fuel, forget it, more power = more fuel!

All the gauges are accurate except the tranny temp gauge.
For the EGT to work right, you have to install the optional thermocouple (EGT probe) before the turbo or also called pre-turbo. Then use 1,250º as you red line.
The tranny temp gauges works fine as long as you understand that the temp it shows will be about 10º to 15º higher than what a seperate tranny temp gauge would show. That's because of the location of the sender. The sender the Evo uses is up inside the tranny, so it gives you a higher temp than "sump" temp. Ford uses sump temp in all their testing, and it's about 10º to 15º lower than the tranny temp the PCM uses. The presure port on the driver's side of the tranny gives you sump temp. Sump temp should never be allowed to go above 225º. So on an Evo II (or any gauge that uses PCM tranny temp), raise that red line to about 235º or 240º.

BTS tranny; TurboRamAir intake and 4" stainless turbo-back exhaust; DP-Tuner tunes flashed into an Edge Evolution tuner; ISSPRO EV gauges and TTM; AIC; SP-Diesel exhaust brake and torque converter controller. I special-ordered it new and plan to drive it until it quits.
I did kind of wonder where that sensor is, I guess I could give my trans temp alarm a few more degrees.
Now on to another sensor, I always thought that engine oil temp was a better indication of true engine temp since it is the oil that protects the engine in general not the water.
Do you know the location of the oil temp sensor?
It seems to run about 5 degrees or more over the water.
Thanks
Bruce

I didn't see the "Edge programmed with DP's codes" option when I went to DP's site. Is that just a 6.0 thing? I have a 7.3. I've been nervous about installing the EGT sensor (drilling the pipe, filings screwing up the turbo) but after clicking around, I guess I'm over it.
I see the Edge Juice w/Attitude for $640 on ebay. 25, 45, 55, 65, 75 HP? Which setting is for towing? How do the Juice settings compare to DP's?
What about TS? How do the TS settings compare to the DP "60towing" and "80econo" settings? The TS is stock, 50, 75, 100, 140. Which one is for towing? Towing at altitude? Which one for econo?
A guy at work was making the argument that even on the higher HP positions, your foot is still the governator and basically 50=75=100=140 if you keep your foot out of it, the only place it is different is floored, cuz otherwise it's just timing that is advanced (plus other stuff he mentioned at the water cooler)
How much is an EGT guage? Worth the Edge Attitude? $640 is a lot to me...looks like I can get a DP with stock, no start, 60tow high alt, 80 econo, 100 or 120 or 140, and the switch for $375...then a guage for $120 (shipped from ebay) So $500, more or less. All the juice/attitude info is cool...but necessary?
Finally...100 vs 120 vs 140? I figure I'd spend most of my time in the 80econo mode...switching to the max mode for those occasions when you just gotta move it. Is 140 gonna kill my tranny? Is 100 enough? It's more than the Juice...even the 80econo is more than the juice, at least on the surface.
I've been fairly satisfied with mine stock...even with 295's...but recently went to 315's and I wanna get some performance back plus some of those hot rod moments. I know a 4" exhaust would help too, but I don't want the weird "excursion drone" I've read about on this site. Bone stock it would pull my jeep over the high Utah passes at extra legal speeds, so I didn't need much more than that.
Thanks,
Brett

Their website shows only the Edge tuning on the Evo I available for the 7.3L. And it shows only the Edge tuning on the Evo II available for the 6.0L.
I know they flashed my Edge Evo I with DP-Tuner tunes, but then they stopped doing it. Call them and ask if they will do it now for your 7.3L. But they won't be back to work until "next year", sso you'll have to wait a while.
If they can no longer flash the Edge programmers with DP-Tuner tunes, then you still have the option of getting the SCT tuner with DP-Tuner tunes. That's probably what I would do.
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I've been fairly satisfied with mine stock...even with 295's... </div></div>
As I was driving the 120 miles to Lubbock in the early morning hours, with gauges, Walker BTM muffler, 295 tires and dragging the 5er, I thought: "Smokey, why would anyone want more power than this?"
But after installing the good intake and a mild towing chip, I was like the gun nuts: The only way you'll take my chip is from my cold, dead, hands.
A coupla years later my PCM went south. The old chip wouldn't work with the new PCM. So I made one long towing trip from Texas to Oregon and back without a chip. As soon as I got back I called Jerry Schmidt at http://www.GOSperformance.com and ordered the Edge Evo I programmer. No, I didn't "need" it, but it was a lot more pleasure towing with the hot-rodded engine than without.
