Hi, hope I can answer some questions for ya. first of all, a little ground work has to be established as I don't know for sure what you did.
You can't mix wire types with the thermocouple (TC) as it makes another temperature junction. If you purchase more TC wire, (use type "K" wire only), you have to make sure that you hook the same wire color together. When you hook the wires up, you have to use a screw type tightner (preferable) or a crimp connector as soldering them makes them go haywire, too. In order to test the TC, pull it out and hook it directly to the gage and them QUICKLY hold a match under the tip, burning

and see if the gage moves. If nothing moves, either the TC is bad or its the gage. Once you get that working, then you can tackle the TTM and you can use the same TC wire for that. e-mail me if you have any other questions.
