Electric Brake Harness

I'm not able to check it out right now SO, does the 01 Ex have the "trailer brakes" receptical under the dash like the SD's have? Plus if it does,...Does anyone have the part number of the harness needed to plug into the trailer brakes receptical. I bought it used and got nothing My 96' came with it when I ordered the truck.

Thanks,
Brent.

Re: Electric Brake Harness

My '01 X had the receptacle in the factory harness ... below the cubby hole and just to the right of the driver-side footwell.

You'll need a pigtail that plugs into the harness, and gets hard-wired to your brake controller.

A word of caution here. The aftermarket pigtail I bought had two wires in the wrong location ... would've fried my Prodigy controller. So, before you make the final connection and apply juice to the controller, make certain of each wire's functionality. A little ohm-meter works well for this task.

Re: Electric Brake Harness

BDS, I've got a 2001 ltd and the harness that came with the vehicle is p/n YC3T-15A416-AB. That is what the sticker says on plastic bag it came in.

Re: Electric Brake Harness

Awesome! I'm sure having that number when I go to the dealer on monday will save about 20 min. and they'll still order the wrong thing!

Thanks Again,
Brent.

Re: Electric Brake Harness

Brakecontroller.com has them if the dealer is out there on price

I think they charge about $7

They had the lowest price on my Prodigy

Re: Electric Brake Harness

Thanks,I ckecked them out and they say the harness comes with the podogy? connection...I'm guessing it is refering to having a plug on the brake controller end rather than needing but connectors for the connection the the controller. Is this right? My Drawtite Activator has no receptical. I'm sure I could cut the plug off and attach it the "old" way. But if it has a plug does it also have a wire color identification guide so I know where to reattach them to the controller?

HERE it is...

Cool! I would have bought that in a heart beat!

I had to make my own took abut 1/2 hour or more to do it right Solder each wire Heat shrink over each wire then heat shrink the whole thing. It looked nice but took time.
