FYI...
I have ordered a complete set (two Pair) of mud guards for my Ex. They are made by Husky Liner and are the units designed for those of us who have the factory wheel molding (standard on the Limited's). After waiting three weeks for them I finally called Husky Liner and received the scoop. Evidently they are having problems with the molds that they are using to turn out the product. Although many distributors have a part number for the two sets and may be taking orders, they are not being filled by Husky Liner. I was told by Oct. 1st they would be shipping. I have the Husky Liner rear cargo mat and like the custom fit. I hope the mud gards fit as well and are here before winter.
P.S. Anyone having problems with their rear doors starting to stick or drag when opened? Does the dealer have a fix? Thanks!
Love the towing torque!!!

Well after waiting quite a while the Husky-Liner mud guards finally arrived on my doorstep. It took about an hour and a half to install the front and rear sets. They go on using one of the stock fender flare fastners so they position correctly, then the remaining 3 (a total of 4 per flare) require drilling a pilot hole through the plastic and using self-tapping screws. The fit is very custom, fitting tightly to the existing flares. The product info states that they can be painted but I left mine with the black matte finish since my rig is black. The front set should definately keep the crud off of the runningboards. For those who plan on doing serious off-roading this style would probably cause exit angle problems when the rear wheels drop off rocks. Better to get the flexible rubber type for this. For serious off roading I pull out the Land Rover (another Ford?).

I spoke to Husky on 10/13 about the moulded mud flaps to ask if they will be in other colors, BLK, TAN, GRY, wanting tan to match the running boards - answer: NO, will not be doing any colors. I'm ordering at least one set for the front wheels to keep the dirt & rocks off the running board. Wondering about putting two (2) pair on the back. Thinking it it's not too lame - having one set on the foreward part of the wheel well to keep rocks & dirt from getting on the running board from the rear tire side. I've never seen anyone do this yet??? Any ideas???

I have seen a set of these mudflaps on a friend's X-car, and I like the look and protection they would have afforded to mudslinging. But I must tell you that they wouldn't have survived the last trip I took to the mountains. I'd have left them somewhere up there. If you are not familiar with my harrowing adventure, see my posting on "I took the X-car four-wheeling..." in this forum.

I've ordered 2 pair through Cabela's www.cabelas.com Autos & ATV, they may be having some problems with the on-line catalogue
I called the 800 number and worked with "special orders" and they said they were in stock and that I should have them in my hands by Friday (10/27).
