Ex PSD Captains Chairs & Comfort

Has anyone modified the foam in the factory captains chairs to add more side bolstering? My problem is that I like the seats and the lumbar support is adequate but the side-to-side support on the bottom half of the seat is poor to say the least. I always need to use my arm or slide my left leg against the door while in cloverleaf turns to keep centered on the seat. The slick leather doesn't help this situation any. I'm not a race car driver and even at slow speeds this is a problem in turns. In the other direction you use the armrest to help curtail the sideways motion. I've looked at the Recaro seats that are designed for touring rather than racing/sportscar applications and they would do the trick but are quite expensive and would probably not fit and look as finished as the factory seats. Has anyone tackled this situation? If so any advice would be appreciated. I think the bottom half of the Ford seats lack enough support. I am not heavy (6'3" and 180) and they still feel soft and mushy!

Gee I'm 6'3" - 265 lbs., and I don't have that problem. Go figure.

I agree with you, what I did was have my wife sew velcro strips on the back of my shorts and to the seat, but it does raise some eyebrows in public
