Excursion 6.0 fuel milage - Diesel Forum

just bought a 2005 excursion limited 6.0. anybody have this vehicle? what kind of milage can I expect? cant wait to tow my 30 ft travel trailer...

I an 04 and I get 15 towing my race car from Long Island to Pocono which over 7000 lb. I can get 22 crusing at 55-60.

Approx. 14.5-16.5 city . 16.5 - 18.5 highway

14-14.5 all around driving. Best of 17.5 on the hiway. Towing was 9.5-12 towing my 19.5'x8.5' Vee nosed double axle enclosed trailer of about 5k lbs.

'04 is getting right at 17 average. Only has 7500 miles on it, about 4000 of those a trip to Lost Wages last year when it had less than 500 miles on it. Seems to be starting to loosen up a bit now and I look for it to improve. Already better than the '01 with a 7.3 it replaced.

My 03 gets 16.6 around town going to work and as high as 21.8 going 75mph with a wife and 2 kids on board. The sweet spot on the interstate seems to be between 2000 - 2200 rpm's. I'm a happy camper. Yes, these figures are hand calculated.
