Excursion AC question

Has anyone had a problem with the AC not coming back on after a 100 mile drive. We stopped for dinner then got back on the road and it took about 15 minutes for it to come back on (the fan wouldn't even come on). Never had this happen before. It worked fine on the trip back yesterday. Any ideas on what could be going on........

Re: Excursion AC question

I haven't had the A/C not come on, but from my experiences so far, Ford must have had the guys at Lucas do the wiring after they bought out Jaguar.

1. My rear back up alarm turns itself off infrequently when I go in reverse (the dash button is off as if I pressed it!).

2. The wipers simply did not come on one day in a heavy rain and I had to stop the truck on the side of the road, shut it off, and then they worked.

3. One day the CD changer just wouldn't take commands. No eject, no load, no buttons, but the lcd was on. Truck on, truck off, nothing. Next morning, started the truck, it spit out #6 slot.

There has been a few more that I have forgotten. I have come to expect whacky stuff on this truck.

Re: Excursion AC question

Perhaps the line pressure switch is getting funky on ya? You might want to make an appointment at one of the Dealers to have the system pressure checked before they get swamped, mention to them that it didn't kick back on as well.

Kicked ours on for the first time this season today and it got so darned cold we had to turn it down abit and I still haven't installed the 16" pusher yet

I too recall something about the front blower motors been going out, don't know if it's related to the electronic or the knob dash configuration.

Re: Excursion AC question

DallasCajun,
That's how mine started. And then little by little it did it more frequently. Until it died. I took it in and they ended up replacing the blower motor.(the front)...My rear A/C wasn't phased at all. The rear works and worked fine during the front fiasco. Hope this helps

Carlos

P.S.
My dealer said they've seen a few come in for the same reason.

Re: Excursion AC question

Thanks, for the replies. Come to think of it the fan has made some noise in the past after it had been running. This is really baffling since nothing worked on the front air, didn't even light up. The rear air continued to work though as did everything else in the truck...

Re: Excursion AC question

It sounds to me like you are getting paid back for something you did to your X. Have you been leaving it outside? Not letting it warm up at start? Maybe even yelling at it? I would just bring it inside your house and treat it like a child. Let it sleep in the livingroom or your bedroom, it will begin to trust you once again and run like it should. Re: Excursion AC question

MotionMan you have probably hit it right on the grill........Guess I will have to cut a hole in the garage door header so I can park her in the garage......I also have to remember this is the wife's daily driver, so unexplained things tend to happen sometimes (no pun intended). Guess I better not scold to often, will have to speak softly and leave the big stick behind next time.......
