Excursion PSD Emblem - Owner Connection

I e-mailed owner connection regarding as to why they are not designating Excursions with any type engine badge or emblem. This was their reply.

"Thank you for your message of 12/01/99 regarding your 2000 Ford
Excursion. We appreciate the time you have taken to write us concerning
the Powerstroke Diesel emblem not being displayed on your vehicle.

The reason why Ford Motor Company does not put these emblems on your
vehicle directly is because not all Excursions have Powerstroke Diesel
engines in them. Only those vehicles equipped with this type of engine
would have the emblem on the engine itself."

What a joke. I replied back to them that they either don't work for Ford directly or that they just obviously don't know what is going on, as I do indeed have a PSD Excursion and it like all the other Excursions that have been built have no engine desigination on the vehicle body. Can't wait for their reply, and I will post it if and when I get it. I'm sorry folks but someone is getting paid to do a job that they know nothing about.

Re: Excursion PSD Emblem - Owner Connection

As a diesel newcomer, I naturally wanted to drive a PSD before ordering my Excursion. Everything on the lots were gassers. When I spotted an Excursion in the color I wanted I jumped to the conclusion it was another V10 because there was no PSD emblem on it. What a surprise when I looked at the sticker and saw a diesel engine listed! Sure you can buy emblems from parts after purchase but I simply don't understand why Ford would elect not to advertise "the engine of engines."

Re: Excursion PSD Emblem - Owner Connection

I received another reply.

"We thank you for taking the time to let us know about your frustration
with the situation surrounding this emblem. We pride ourselves on
becoming the world's leading consumer company for automotive products
and services, and the satisfaction of our customers is one of our
highest priorities. We appreciate your concerns and have documented them
for future reference."

Why can't they just answer my question yes or no do you know why there is no emblem on the Excursion.

These people must work in a big answering service building where your call is very important but stay on the phone (on hold) another thirty minutes.

Re: Excursion PSD Emblem - Owner Connection

I already have in my hot little hand three emblems for my Excursion when (or if) it gets here. One for the back, two for each door . $12 each through parts.

Re: Excursion PSD Emblem - Owner Connection

Picked up the Excursion on Thursday. When I was doing the inspection, I noted two Items. 1st being the fuel injector additive, which they replied they had never heard of. I had the part number so they said they would look it up while we went to fuel it up. The second was the PSD emblems on the doors. When I got back they handed me the bottle of additive and said they had ordered the emblems.

Re: Excursion PSD Emblem - Owner Connection

Emblems: Are we talking the door "plates" that come on the pickups or the "self adhesive style" that I've seen on 94-97 trucks?

Re: Excursion PSD Emblem - Owner Connection

I am eagerly awaiting the delivery of my PSD. Of course I want to proudly display the fact the I am driving a PSD. I searched and saw that someone is getting something for $.12, I'm thinking this must be the stickers. I want to get the plates (they type that I see on the 250/350 doors). I will be going to the dealer tomorrow and want to talk about getting these. I doubt I'll need a P/N, but I do have a question. How are these plates installed? Are they "stick-on"? Are they bolted on from inside the door? Or are they "snap-in" (for lack of a better word) like the Hood Emblems on my '53 F100?

Re: Excursion PSD Emblem - Owner Connection

They have 2 sided tape on the back of them. Make sure you have them lined up and positioned where you want them, cause you only get one chance. When they stick, there are stuck. I put them on PSD the same day I got it.
