Re: Excursion Resale Value's

Sales on Ex's are softer than a baby's bottom. I just returned from a dealership that had a Torador Red 00 EX sitting on the lot for 7 months---PSD---pretty as a picutre. He finally got an offer that's gonna make HIM upside down by 5k.
Luckily, I want to keep mine for a long time.

Re: Excursion Resale Value's

GSMC - Welcome to the site.

You're right on. I've been surprised at the drop as well. We've even got a dealer here advertising Ltd. 4x4 PSD's at $8,000 off MSRP. Why buy used at those prices?

I'm with Aces Full, keeping mine for a long time.

Excursion Resale Value's

I have a 00 Limited PSD to sell and I'm starting to think I'm going to take a big loss. From what I'm seeing, they just aren't selling. New or used.Local dealerships don't really want mine as a trade in and the prices of used x's in the paper are scary. In todays paper there are 2 other x's for sale:00 XLT 24,995.00 00 Limited 26,995.00
That's dealers asking prices.Do these prices seem too low to you? New Orleans, La.
Thanks

If the mileage was high and they were gas engines, this would not suprise me at all. Especially if they have the 5.4L.

I plan on running mine into the ground.

Re: Excursion Resale Value's

Ok everbody who bought a diesel Ex with the idea of getting rid of it within 5 years raise your hand. Now everbody with your hand raised say out loud.... OUCH ! (could have been much more graphic but ouch gets by the bleeper...)

We are in these things for the long haul. I expect the eventual value of this rig to be relativly high. But the short to medium term resale is going to make us all cry. Hang on to them if you can, if you can't...OUCH

Re: Excursion Resale Value's

It always happens when the media plays up the "Oil Crisis" but it normally settles down. It's a great time to be a buyer but, apparently a poor time to be a seller

Best of luck with yours,

scott

Re: Excursion Resale Value's

FastMatt,

There is alot to be said for being the first in town. I had one of the first Black 4X4 Expeditions in Miami, and people used to walk up to me at stop lights and ask what it was.I get a lot of comments now on my Excursion. I guess it's one of those "boys and their toys things"

There is a very select and narrow market on these trucks, and when the discretionary income starts to fall, the values waiver.

There is nothing we can do about the values right now so just enjoy that beautiful ( and apparently very fast ) truck.
