Mine weighed almost identical....7,900 lbs., full fuel, no driver or gear. It's bone stock and has none of the winch stuff or lift kits. I was surprised it weighed that much.

I'm not sure what my X weighs, but when I take the Ohio Turnpike it weighs enough to be considered class 2 which almost doubles the toll. The tollbooth operaters can't even beleive it.

I was trying to get a reliable trailer weight the other day and did the same thing with the X-car... since I was there already. The X-car had a half-tank of fuel, no stuff inside, and no heavy add-on stuff. The weight came to 7,900 or so, as I recall.

Mine weighed 7,300 full fuel with my son and myself. Comes to 7,000 full fuel and no passengers. X is a 2000 XLT PSD 2WD. Hard to believe the 4x4 weighs 900 lbs more??
I went back to the book where I wrote all this down and verified the precise weight.
Mine came in at 7,986 with half-tank of fuel, after subtracting the weight of the sweet little girl smiling back at me from the passenger seat.
With 21 gallons left to get to a full tank, and assuming fuel weight to be about 5 lbs per gallon, that would bring the total weight of the vehicle (wet) to just at 8,091 lbs.
Somewhat surprising, isn't it.

Extra driveshaft, u-joint, xfer case, support hardware, leaf springs, heavy front axle and other pieces most likely chew up that 900 lb. difference pretty quick. I believe diesel fuel is about 6 to 6.5 lbs per gallon if you're doing the conversion. Closer to 6.5 would be my guess.

Mine weighs about 8,000 full of fuel also. Most of the people responding with 4x4, also have Limited models, which have additional equipment when compared to XLT. Mine has all options (Reverse sensing was not available in 11/99)
