Excursion's In Driveway

Picked up Excursion this morning with only one hitch. The bolt holding trailer wiring harness was sheared (how does that happen?). It took about an hour to fix it.

The vehicle was ordered Nov 30th and dealer called Feb 18th saying it was ready to pick up. That's 80 days start to finish. MSRP was $46065 and I paid $42,198.50 ($40,030 invoice, $2,001.50 MD tax, $20 titling fee, $117 tag fee, $5 tire recycling fee and $25 dealer processing fee).

The Excursion drives very well...steering and road feel great. It was responsive to the fuel pedal (though I didn't punch it). 76 miles on it and new vehicle smell is great!

Re: Excursion's In Driveway

I think the assembly plant is over torqueing those bolts. I think they partially shear them upon installation, and after a few miles they fall off. Mine fell off after about 100 miles. Dealer repaired it and it took them 2 hours.

Amazing. Mine fell off after about 1000 miles.
I fixed it myself with tape until my first FREE oil change. Then the dealer took care of it.

Re: Excursion's In Driveway

Ordered my Excursion yesturday. As we were looking at a V10 the salesman kicked the wiring harness. I asked if it had come off during transport and he said yes. It was hanging down when the Excursion rolled off the delivery truck. It is a problem.

Re: Excursion's In Driveway

Hey Keno, wouldn't you love to have those Maryland taxes? I should look for my invoice. I'm pretty sure the tabs themselves were over $600, and I'd love it if our sales tax were only 5%.

Minnesota, land of 10,000 taxes, er, I mean lakes.
