exhaust back pressure sensor...installation? Powerstroke 6.0

Does anyone out there know if installing a new EBP sensor is as simple as bolting in the new one, or does it involve any software tinkering that I cant do at home. I had some surging at low speed and some excessive turbo lag. The dealer replaced my turbo and my IPC. The symptoms went away but it seems like my overall power is reduced. Someone told me it sounds like a problem they had with their EBP sensor. It seems like putting one in myself would be much less expensive and much less hassle than going back to the dealer.
Any information would be appreciated.

The newest flash for the 2003 and 2004 trucks disregards the readings from that sensor so it is no longer needed. Take your truck in and have it reflashed under warranty.....then you'll never need that sensor again.
