Exhaust temps

I just spent this weekend installing a Diablo
chip, EGT, and boost gauges. Man what a difference! The EX is absolutely fast, but the egts go all the way to 1450 deg.s under full throttle, only for a few seconds but isn't that a little or alot high! I have a large trailer to tow when spring gets here. It does come down to about 750-800 at 75 mph, but thats with no load. What do your other chips run at temp. wise, my Ex is stock other wise with 1760 miles.

Re: Exhaust temps

Derrick,
Whoa man hold down that temp, you could be in a new Turbo territory. Seriously please try to keep it under 1300 as that's the max for short periods of time. There are other folks who will tell you to keep it under 1250 and that's OK too. Better safe than sorry I always say.

Re: Exhaust temps

I've always heard that at 1400 deg. F you can see molten bits of piston flying out the exhaust pipe.......
