I bought the White X because my buddy has a black one and once I washed this bus I realized white was the right choice. Black looks nice when clean but is hard to keep it that way. If you don't dry the roof completely, especially around the rack cross members the water will run off the top and leave water marks. Color is a matter of opinion pick what you and your wife like and be happy with it. If you only keep a car a few years pick a color that will resale quickly which I have found is Black or White.

My last large rig was dark blue and while stunning while freshly clean, 10 minutes on the road & the dust/dirt made the rig look bad. And while I've always thought most white rigs looked like they left the factory unpainted, I love my white Limited and take every chance to look at it on Main street in the reflections from Business windows. Its stunning and it still looks cleans even while dusty.
Looks like just about every color covered above. Thanks for the replies...the other color besides white, which I was considering was Dark Green Satin. I misspoke in my post when I said Estate Green. I have owned nothing but black vehicles, but as I get older my enthusiasm to maintain them is waning. So guess I'll just stay with the white, which is on order and should be in transit, although...

"Get white---it'll look like a big ole refrigerator running down the hwy!!!"
Exactly what I'm afraid of.

I got the Toreador Red on my limited X I was all set to buy the white one sitting next to it but once I saw that red in the sunlight I had to have her!

Hey, I was only kidding. I remember that my favorite auto detailer, and this guy was a fanatic (did the air conditioning ducts w/ q-Tips) told me that the easiest vehicle to keep looking good the longest, is always a white vehicle. I don't know why---but I can tell you I have one, and it looks elegant!!!!
In my book, White is the only way to go. It "ages" much more gracefully than the other colors and resells easier down the road (especially below the Mason-Dixon Line in the sunny warm weather areas).
As for myself, I hate the Limited's cladding. It looks cheezy (my apologies to Limited owners).
The XLT with some Bushwacker "street" flairs and some "tasty" pinstriping makes the rig look so much meaner and cleaner than the plastic looking cladding and opposing color schemes.
Throw in some front and rear air deflectors, a Lund Moon visor to break up the curves a bit, and some larger tires and you've got classic good looks. It's all subjective, but that's my two cents worth,

Thanks everyone, interesting to hear selections. I was just told the White truck I have on order won't show up until end of November. You'd think FORD would put priority on retail order, especially on this truck. Needed this thing last week to make trip to Fla. with 34 ft. boat. Dark Green is available now.

Well, I was "told" we bought the Estate Green, but I think it must be this "Deep Satin Green" people are talking about. When I see other Excursions that look like an Olive Drab color, I am told that it is "Estate Green."
Ours looks like a dark blue if you are standing next to it, but when you back off about 20 feet it looks like a Forest Green. It's a pretty cool effect, and when dirty, it almost looks like a charcoal color but changes depending on how close you are to it.
Does anyone know what the REAL color name of this might be? Are there more than one types of "Estate Green?"

I really hadn't planned on getting white, but at the time it was the only PSD equipped anything close to the way I wanted it.
I found out I love this color . . . it just needed a few accents . . . amazing what a smoke colored bug deflector, Thule racks and PSD badging on the doors (same place as SuperDuty) did for the looks. I agree with IMDOK, the street flares would look sharp on an XLT also. In fact, I think the Expedition EB trim would look perfect on the Excursion (wheel trim and strip trim on the rocker panel).
White, lean on any other color vehicle here in south west Florida and you are toast. OOOOOOOOuch. I had the green, blue, dark blue ,tan, purple, emerald green, and pale green and the easiest to take care and keep clean is the white. With the lariat trim it really makes a nice contrast to the pavement.

Tailgate-Your color is the same as mine; Dark Satin Green. Estate Green is the Olive Drab type color. I also agree the Dark Satin Green gives a pretty cool effect. Hope this helps.

Sharpest looking color combo when polished but very difficult if not impossible to keep clean. Also shows every scratch, dent and ding. Wouldn't have this truck any other way or color.
Passed on a Limited model because I didn't like the color of the body cladding. Also not a big fan of leather seats either.
