Exterior temp reading is wrong Has anyone had problems with this? - Diesel Forum

My temp reading is way off. Has anyone had problems with this? Had days here in Denver where I know is was in the high 90's and my reading comes in at 76 or below. It's all over the board. What do you all think?

It's a bad sensor. The sensor is located behind the grill mid way up on drivers side.

Mine will take a few minutes to adjust to the temp. I have had other trucks with temp sensors and they were always right on right away. Maybe you just need to wait a little while. Mine sometimes takes 2 or 3 minutes. Otherwise it is an easy fix.

I had a bug smash on mine once and it read low temps. Cleaned it off and it is still working. You have to clean the rear bumper distance sensers to or they will start working all the time when in reverse.
