You would think with an Excursion space would not be a problem, but after we load the three kids and the dog kennel things start to get crowded. Has anyone used one of those Hitch haul racks that utilize the receiver on the back ? If so is one brand better than the other and where did you purchase?

When I had my Expedition, I bought one that was on clearance at BJ's Wholesale. It is a rack type with a wire mesh floor with 2" sides. Only spent $30 or so. I have seen them for a lot more. This one had a few scratches. Holds 500 pounds with no problem. Great palce to put messy things that you do not want inside the vehicle. I know several people who have made there own. Just watch weight. When I tow my camper, I used the front hitch receiver with the hauler to carry extra items. Just remember not to block the cooling radiators.
