Re: Are F-350 rear springs interchaneable with Excursion springs?
Look down the list a little bit and you'll find 1 or maybe 2 threads on F350 spring swaps. Seems like <1" lift but firmer ride and they didn't use the overloads.

Re: Are F-350 rear springs interchaneable with Excursion springs?
Have F350 rear springs on mine. I would guess about 2" life in rear. Mine always looked low in rear before. Lay a level on the roof and the bubble in centered now. As far as overloads, I removed that spring from mine. You could use it, but you would have to get the brackets they hit when overloaded. My frame is drilled for them, but I choose not to get them.

Any advantages to the overloads?
[/ QUOTE ]
The overloads won't affect ride any. If you still use the 4"rear blocks they will give you a little more lift in the rear. I really can't imagine being able to load an Ex enough for the overloadsprings to ever be used. We are getting ready to do a swap for X code fronts and F-350 rears. Probably not going to do the overload springs because as I said before I can't imagine loading it enough for them ever to be used.
We haven't been able to find any springs locally so it looks like we are going to order direct through Ford. My dad gets a discount because the parts manager at one of the local dealers is one of his old runnin buddies. We aren't really sure which springs to order for the rear though. We guess B code rears are ok but we don't know if those come with the overloads or not.
I'll be sure to keep you guys posted.

If you want to go higher with a better ride then stock just use the edge spring shackles in the front and a block in the rear

Re: Are F-350 rear springs interchaneable with Excursion springs?
Does anyone know if you have to used the spacer that goes inbetween the main spring and the helper spring. We are going to install the helper springs but will it be too high with that spacer installed and the 4" rear blocks?

Re: Are F-350 rear springs interchaneable with Excursion springs?
I would not think you have to install it, I think its there to give somelag time before ya hit the helper spring. It should only stiffen the ride if ya remove that spacer

Sorry for the dumb question (new here), what are X code fronts? I'm assuming that they are some other Ford SD front spring...
Re: Are F-350 rear springs interchaneable with Excursion springs?
ok I just did the X code spring swap 2 weeks ago and WOW. I also added a mini 2" spring pack in the front and a add a leaf in the rear. I will post pictures on monday after a busy week end. I removed the spacer block and the overloads. I now sit about 5 inches higher than a stock X. Bilsteins round out my lift and the ride is rough....1 ton springs are...well 1 ton springs. I plan on running 315/75/16 nitto's next spring since the 305/70/16 goodyears have a ton of tread left. I will be taking it to show at Carlisle for the All Truck Nationals Aug.6,7,& 8th in PA.
