F350 Dually sway bar

There's been so much darn discussion of these things in other posts. I don't want to hijack them...or maybe I'm just being selfish and want all of the attention myself. Maybe I'm simply analyzing this thing too much. But I gotta' tell 'ya, right now this thing is dangerous to drive with our trailer so I want to make sure I'm getting absolutely the best set-up for the rig. I'm getting no help from the dealer so right now it looks like I'm on my own.

Is the sway bar off the F350 dually a direct bolt-in replacement for my OEM sway bar? Is it as good or better than the Hellwig? What model years would work for me?

Re: F350 Dually sway bar

The 30mm bar is a direct replacement. About 10-15 minutes to swap out.

If you don't have one, but it sounds like you do, I'd go Helwig.

If you've got a lot of body roll with the OEM bar, I'd be looking at something else. The 30mm may help some, but it should be rolling around.

I only tow a 7500# boat, but it tows great.

Re: F350 Dually sway bar

The dually bar works great. I got mine at a local wrecking yard for $50.00. I just tested my traction bars out with and without the sway bar. I was suprised to see the stability of the truck towing with the traction bars only. The wandering is mostly from the rear springs winding up and unloading. Now after reinstalling the sway bar I still have some wandering. It appears to be in the steering box.

Re: F350 Dually sway bar

Anyone know the size of my current sway bar, assuming the F350 dually has a 30 mm? Is the Hellwig thicker than the 30 mm? I get the impression from other threads that the Hellwig is the best, but the installation will be more difficult.
