Continuing on with the modification list, does anyone have an opinion about the Ford AIS air cleaner (P/A:2u2z-9k635-aa). (I know I am opening a can of worms here and yes, I also know that opinions are like A**holes, everyone has one and they all stink). I am worried about my warranty (have 2,000 miles on my '05) since I have heard of dealers voiding warranties because of aftermarket parts on the engine.
Thanks,

I'm not aware thee is one for the 6.0. Only the 7.3.

I believe the 6.0 already has the AIS technology built into it. The Ford AIS for the 7.3 is based on this same technology even though it is different in appearance.
Here is part of an article I read before buying mine and yes I would purchase it again!!

If you are the proud owner of the new 6.0-liter Power Stroke Diesel engine in a Ford F-Series Super Duty or an Excursion SUV, you already have the advantage of the PowerCore air filtration technology working under the hood everyday. But what about owners who have the original 7.3-liter Power Stroke Diesel? Is there a way that this AIS technology can be adapted to some older models? The answer is yes! Ford Motor Company and Motorcraft engineers have designed an AIS Severe Duty kit using PowerCore technology to be compatible to F-250 through F-550 Super Duty pickup trucks and to Excursion SUVs built after Jan. 1, 1998.
The new AIS on the 7.3 is a good way to go. I think I gained close to 1MPG and that is over the AFE I had.
I paid to much on EBAY as they can be had for about $180.00 acording to a post over in upgrades and aftermarket

Is the AIS free-flowing enough to take advantage of a 4" exhaust on a mildly-to-moderatly programmed truck?

Bruce,is it Ford endorsed or can they void warr.claimes over it?

That is why I changed, Says MOTORCRAFT right on it.
Never asked but it is a Ford product, I would have a hard time thinking it would be a problem.
It is sold as an extreem service accessory not a performance accessory.
At least as far as I understand it.

My X falls into the mild-to-moderate catagory but I only have a 3.5" exhaust so I am not sure I can answer this one from experience. I can say in my situation I noticed both an increase in performance and slight increase in fuel milage after installing the AIS. Another plus, for me, is that the AIS helps me battle the fine red dirt/dust on the roads where we hunt in the summer. This stuff gets every where!!
There are others on this site who have both a 4" and AIS setup that can give you a better opinion. You can try Jflagstad, who works for Donaldson, or Carnut57, one of the sponsors on this web site.

OK found it using the part number. Now, anybody got a picture of what it looks like installed? or otherwise.

I just had a 4" Magnaflow Performance Exhaust installed last week, and the FORD AIS I installed 2 days ago. I can definetly tell a difference in the low to mid range HP increase and smoothness. The exhaust sounds great, but I don't think the kids will like the "Drone" when I am on the accelerator. Mileage seemed to increase around 1-1.5 MPG. The AIS install was extremely easy, took about 30 minutes. I am truly happy with the added modifications, but I am unhappy with the fact that I cannot stop wanting to add or do things to this rig.
