few question for x owners

Two question hope someone with experience can help-

1. I know that the excursion front springs "sag" alot what are some options that will resolve this problem but still keep the smooth ride that the X are suppose to have? A friend has the diffrent code springs in his but it ride so much harsher than mine (as long as the springs don't hit the stops). How much will a shakle kit help or should I look for a kit that lowers the front spring mount point with out messing up the gemoetry of the front end?

2. Who has any Banks Performance parts and are they worth the $$$. I am looking at the 6 Gun bundle kit they have, seams appealing but I don't know anyone who has any of their stuff.

Thanks Joe

Re: few question for x owners

I'm running U-Code front springs and they don't seem to be any harsher than what was stock. The biggest difference is that it doesn't "whack" the bumpstops on the small bumps like it did before.

I'm running a banks exhaust system. It's a good product. I don't know much about their other bits, but other than the price I've never heard anyone complain about what they produce.

Regards,
Dave

Re: few question for x owners

Do a search on the springs. I know a lot of guys have done some different things with their springs with some good results. For myself, a lift was in order, and it handles and rides better now than before.

As for Banks, I have the Power Pack. The only things that I got rid of are the gauges (only because I love my Autometer Cobalts) and the chip (because I am a sucker for a smooth talking Okie named Tony Wildman). I am very pleased with the intercooler, turbo housing and wheel and exhaust. I am also very happy with the way the Transcommand made my shifts firmer. I have raced at Bandimere a few times and am now hooked on that, so eventually I will need a BTS tranny, but until I can afford that, the Transcommand seems to be the ticket. After the Power Pack (and that custom chip from Tony ) my X is running right around 330 HP and 694 torque. I also ran a 15.9 in the 1/4 mile at the track this past weekend in this "thin air" everyone keeps complaining about.

Good luck and have fun modding your X. I know I am!
