Finally bucked up and got converted e-bay grill

Well, I've been debating for a long time what aftermarket grill to go with. I did not want to invest in a full conversion so I ordered the converted newer style oem chrome grill from the e-bay. I like the look of this oem grill with billet inserts which I will be getting very soon. Anyway, I had my old grill off and the new one on in like 3 minutes...it truly was a direct bolt up. I am happy with the new look...much better than the old plain grill. Now, people are really confused as to what year my X is since I have the 02-04 clear headlights and 05-06 oem grill. Me likey Pics in my Webshots link.

What's behind the chrome grille? Do you see right through to the condenser?

Re: Finally bucked up and got converted e-bay grill

I did this a few months ago on my 04. I found a new in the box grille on ebay for $115 and cut it myself. I like the look alot better but now I want to install 05-06 lights or the Harley lights.

The grille has a honey comb plastic behind the chrome so you can't see through very easy.

Here is the link for the ebay GRILLE

Re: Finally bucked up and got converted e-bay grill

Yep...that's the one. Like he said, there is a black plastic honeycomb pattern backing...you cannot see through it at all. I'm looking out the window at mine now and you can't see through into the engine compartment at all...it's more concealing than the oem old one I had on there. You could see my zoodad mod a little with the old grill, but I can't see it at all now...looks much better. I am going to get some billet inserts put in asap.

Looks great!

I really like the look of the color matched black one they have on the eBay site, with only the billet grill down between the fog lights. That's sweet looking.
