I finally ordered mine.
4x4 XLT PSD Excursion
-Toreador Red
-Medium graphite color interior
-Comfort and Convenience Group
-LT265 White Letter Tires
with Chrome Aluminum Wheels
-Telescopint TT Mirrors
Retail: $43276.00
Dealer Inv.: $37878.40
My price: $38256.00
$378 over invoice (1%) is as far down as I could talk them. The next nearest dealer wanted $500 over invoice.
They (Paramount Ford, Rutherford College, NC) has a white Limited PSD 4x4 on the lot. Will sell at $500 over invoice just in case someone is interested. Ask for Wayne, he seemed nice.
The heated telescoping mirrors (54Z) were no longer available. The ordering automatically replaced them with non heated ones (54E). I live in the south and I don't tow anything with snow on the ground so they were almost pointless anyway.
I wanted the transfer case skid plate but when we put it in the computer it said that there would be an added delay in production for that add on.
I tow a 29' Franklin TT with the wife and three kids. I really needed the added space. I have my fingers crossed that if I get the hitch and distribution bars set up right, that I will not have the sway problem while pulling.
I am upgrading from a 1996 F-150 with the 302 to the PSD. I know that this will improve my pulling power just a little. HAHAHA!
And the waiting begins. Day 1! Phew!

Interesting the heated telescoping mirrors were no longer available. I ordered them with my truck back in December. It has been on hold for production for over a week now. I wonder if these mirrors are what is causing the holdup. Has anyone heard of this issue sort of like the reverse sensing holdup. Will my truck ever get built.
Funny you should mention the mirrors. The dealer told me the same thing when I ordered. There was no explaination. When I posted it as a question here, several people said that 54E was the heated mirror, and not to worry.
Since they are standard on Limiteds now do you think I would get them even though they were not ordered. Since I am not scheduled for production and there is no delete for the reverse sensing aid could it be possible. I don't care either way just curious.
If your unit hasn't been scheduled yet, and a standard option is on line, than you should get it. I've been wrong before, but in my dicussions with actual Ford people on the 76R Option and the Aux. Idle Controller, that if a option is only available once it can be shceduled into production without creating any supply problems.

Please do a search for the month of November or December in this forum about the Heated TT Mirrors. I posted about this with the correct information. Yes, if you ordered Heated TT Manually Mirrors you will get a manually sliding mirror assembly head with two mirrors in each head. One big mirror that is heated and electronically controlled, and a second smaller convex mirror that is only manually adjusted. There is some misprint or non-reading salesman out there who don't know that when you upgrade to the Heated TT Mirrors Manually, there is a credit along with a invoice increase. I called Detroit several times about this and got the correct answer.
As for current delays, All I was aware of was the delay on the option 76R Reverse Sensing Aid. This option is now standard on all LIMITEDS coming out of production, and XLT's such as mine that opted for it. The 76R option went into mass production on the assembly line for Build Week of 21 FEBRUARY.
I'm have been waiting now 111 days for my unit. It is suppoed to be in my driveway this week. Anyone know what the odds are?
