First Problem!!

After two years I've encountered the first problem with my X. It started leaking oil between the engine and transmission. Not a lot but enough to make a mess on the garage floor. Took it to the dealer this morning and will let you know what happened. Has anyone else had this problem?

Other than that, it's been perfect. Not even the smallest problem to talk about. This has been the best and most reliable vehicle I've ever owned.

Re: First Problem!!

I had the same problem, it was leaking off the bottom of the inspection cover. The dealer said it was a high pressure oil line at the back of the head, which they fixed.

Re: First Problem!!

Looks like I had the same problem as gschneid. It was a defective O ring on a high pressure oil line. The oil was leaking into the engine valley and then down to the rear. All is ok now. Parts cost $3.92. Not bad for two years.

Re: First Problem!!

I had this same problem also. Dealer #1 said it was the rear main, so they replaced it. Funny thing was, the problem was still there the following week. They replaced the rear main again and insisted they had their "heavy truck "guy working on it. Fortunately, oil dropped again a week later but when i was in a different state. Dealership there fixed the real problem.

On a side note, I had another oil leak last week, but was not related to previous ones (some loose clamps).

I won't ever need underbody coating again because there are about 3 layers of motor oil that will probably never come off.

Re: First Problem!!

Re: First Problem!!

yes, but why pay $100, when you can fix it for around $3.92??
