The carpets in our X look new as the day we drove off the dealer lot 3 years ago. We use our X to fish, hunt, off-road, dirt bike ride, etc, etc, etc.

I use the carpeted Catch-All mats in the passenger areas during winter, spring, and summer. Very pleased with them. In the fall (truck gets used for hunting every weekend)I switch to the plastic Husky Liners, which the mud comes off much easier. I use a plastic Husky Liner cargo mat in the rear year round. I also like the Husky Liners, and both brands have lips to contain spills.
Its expensive to have both sets, but with 3 kids, a dog, its the only way I can keep my blood pressure down when everyone's climbing all over with pops and fast food in hand... Also, when I sold my '00, the carpet looked like new and helped me get a good sale price.
Cabella's has good prices, as does Autobarn. One thing I can't find: a mat to go between my 2nd row buckets. I emailed Catch-All on the issue, but they never responded. I'm always keeping my eyes open at auto stores and catalogs for a mat to fit there, but nothing left.
Up here in Canada, someone sold floor mats under the "pants-saver" awhile ago. I don't know if they're still sold, but the "trick" was that they had very deep grooves ... such that they could hold quite a bit of water (read melted snow) without your pants getting salt stains on them.
Now... I havn't seen the commercials in awhile (I don't watch TV anymore) ... but Canadian Tire carries mats with this basic design. I've bought a set for each new vehicle I've had in recent memory ... and they work well.
For the middle row, I got an SUV mat from CTire. It's just a long strip. I havn't done anything for the third row yet .. the footwell there has a very strange shape.
My '04 'X came with a reversible mat for the cargo area... precut with holes for the 4 tiedowns. I can't see myself replacing that... as it seems so useful and well thought-out.
I have used husky liners in both of my X's. They are molded to the floor and they make them (and I have them) for the first, second, and third rows as well as the cargo area. My father-in law also uses them in his fleet trucks.
Same here!! They are custom molded for an exact fit, guaranteed not to crack or break and are excellent at containing water, dirt, sand, grim, and grease. Cleaning them is a breeze, just whipe 'em down. If the liners need some extra care, pull them out, little 409, POW, they look brand new.
We have the front, front center hump, 2nd row, 3rd row, and cargo area liners. Husky makes two type for the cargo area. I went with the larger cargo area liner because the third seat is rarely in our X and we need the extra protection. The smaller cargo liner only goes to the rear of the third seat when the seat is in the upright position.
For those who insist on a carpeted mat, Husky also make "3D Molded Carpeted Floor and Cargo liners".
Locate Fox enterprise on the web and check their mats out. I had them in my F350 and got them for my 04 Ex. Great quality and fit. Hard shell, carpeted , washable etc...
