That article states that Ford makes a pre-tax profit of $16,500 on each Excursion sold.
That almost makes me not want one, almost.

If I remember correctly, I think that when they were first introducing the Excursion they were saying that they would only build somthing like 35,000 in the first year. Sounds like they took that all the way up to 69K (probably based on initial demand trends) and over forecasted a bit. I also do demand forecasting (different industry), glad my errors don't get highlighted in the press!
