Ford incentives

I've been following this site for about six months now and it is one of the reasons I ordered a 01' PSD Excursion on Dec.19, 00.
I noticed on the Ford page they are offering
$1500. cash back or 0.9/36, 4.9/48, 5.9/60.
It states that you must take delivery from new dealer stock. My question is, being I ordered my unit, will I qualify? Thanks for any input

Re: Ford incentives

Some dealerships would give you the incentive financing even if you ordered your Ex. But most dealerships will only give you the special deal if you buy from dealer stock. They could also get on the "locator" and try to find the one you want at another dealership, then do a dealer trade. Did you order something so special that no dealer in your area had it in stock?

I can't answer your question, but if they don't want to give you that deal, threaten to cancel your order!!!!!

Re: Ford incentives

Dear Gadkins1:

No I didn't order anything out of the ordinary, but we did check the locator and found two green and one black PSD XLT's. I just felt for the money I'm spending on this truck I would like to get it exactly as I want.(Toreador Red XLT PSD W/comfort & Conv. 3.37L/S,Alum. wheels,TT mirrors) I negotiated $250. over invoice, which I think is the going rate. Also, my dealer said he couldn't guarantee that price if he had to trade off for another unit!
Thanks for the reply

Re: Ford incentives

Hammertime,

Cancel your order today, then go in tomorrow and reorder. The fact that they are giving incentives goes back to basic economics. Apparently the supply is greater than the demand. Trust me, Ford dealers will tack some fictitious high demand fee on vehicles that everybody wants. Two can play that game. A lot of people are afraid of these big trucks and therefore the target market is very narrow. I had a dealer tell me that they can't wait to get the Excursions off the lot.

Work them hard.

If the factory has already assigned a build date and he cancels his order, he will loose his deposit. But, if they haven't assigned a build date, cancel it now. Of course give the dealer the option to give you the cash back or low APR ?

Re: Ford incentives

You will receive the available incentives that are offered on the day that you actually take delivery. When you actually take delivery, you are "taking delivery from dealer stock".

Some dealers will help their customers out even if the vehicle isn't there yet, and the incentive is going to expire. They will do the paperwork and date it so you can get the incentives (make it look like you took delivery) It's done all the time.

Dealers know at least a week in advance if the incentives are going to change (so they can adjust their advertising to match).
