Free oil changes - Diesel Forum

I purchased my 2001 PSD "X" in Modesto, California @ Heritage Ford for $300 over invoice and.... they give you free oil changes (as often as every 3000 miles) for as long as you own the rig. Way cool.

That's an exceptional deal. I got three free ones...though sometimes you get what you pay for. The first change, I had them install a Fumoto drain plug and asked for the original back...they tossed it. The second change, they failed to tighter oil filter...it was so loose I turned it by hand when I found oil dripping in driveway. I still have the last change to go. Keep on your toes.

I would pointedly ask exactly what oil they are using. Don't accept 'Ford' oil as an answer. To my knowledge, only three flavors of Ford oil meet the specs:

15W40 Super duty
10W30 Super Duty
Super All Season 0W30 (very rare)

There have been many reports of Ford dealers NOT using oil that meets the CH-4/SJ spec in the PSD supplement for all 2000 and up vehicles.
