Gas fill neck

My 2000 X PSD has the small fill neck on the gas tank. Does anyone have an X with the larger diesel fill tube. I can't tell you how many times I have pulled in to fill up at stations/truck stops and they don't have a pump will the small fill nozzle. My Brother has a 2000 F250 PSD and it has the large diesel fill neck. I have beat up my dealer more than once on this issue and they don't have an answer.

Thanks

Re: Gas fill neck

You can pull the filler tube and remove the restriction. This issue is visited in the middle of the following discussion:

Re: Gas fill neck

and to help out I copied it here:

Take the cap off and look to see if there is a plate with a hole in it
for the nozzle.
If so, you can cut it out with a dremmel.
Remove 3 bolts holding the filler pipe and
unclamp from the rubber hose leading to the tank.
Take it out and cut out the plate so its just one big hole.
Wash and rinse for any debris.
Reinstall and now the truckers nozzles will fit.
