General under dash questions

Alright, maybe I'm just an idiot, but I can't find the door keypad code. I've removed the radio, the little "hook" under the drink holder, and the panel under the steering wheel and looked around for awhile and still can't find the code. I see a couple boxes that some talk about, but no sticker with a code. I thought I saw where someone mentioned possibly behind one of the kick panels, but I couldn't easily remove them, and was afraid of breaking the "press pin?" that seems to hold them. SOOOO, without spending cash at the dealer, how can I find my code? Also, what's the proper procedure for removing the kick panels? Because I'd like to check the grounds (another project).

Thanks,

Doug

I have an 02 excursion. I removed the panel with the hook, underneath the pull out drink carrier. I hear some people luck out and its behind the radio. I was not that lucky! Using a flashlight it took a few minutes to find it. It was towards the top of the dash, more near the firewall. Mine was a white sticker with bold black numbering. mine did not stick right out but its up there.WAY up there! Good luck

I've read some people saying it's a sticker on a cream colored box. I see no cream colored box, but I do see a black box just under the horizontal support beam (tube), but no sticker, and don't see a five digit code. Did any of this info change with the '03 6.0 versions? Right kick panel I see a fuel reset button, but no boxes around there either.

I remember looking for this back in the day and took every %#@ panel off and it wasn't there. Yes, I looked there too. Dealer gave it to me 'FWIR' for free.

Does the dealer just need the VIN #?

I may have just answered my question. I called the dealer, and they would need to scan the vehicle, and it would cost me $50. I'd rather not give the dealer any of my money. I'm open for suggestions.

You could quietly walk into the shop and politely ask a technician if he would look up your keyless entry key pad code for a quick $20.
