Got the hotter thermostat

Anything to watch with installation? Just straighforward thermostat replacement? I got the billet housing also.

Re: Got the hotter thermostat

open the pet**** on the bottom of the radiator and drain into a clean container until the overflow bottle is empty. Then pull the thermostat out and replace. Refill with what you drained and fire it up after installation to check for leaks.....I did that on someone else's post and didnt spill a drop!

Re: Got the hotter thermostat

Also make sure you put it in the right way. A dumb statement, but there have been people that have done that and fried the engine.

Re: Got the hotter thermostat

Done did. Easy as all get out. Almost as easy as changing the alternator(the easiest thing to change out on the truck).

One hint: The plastic cooling fan blade edges are SHARP!

What's the deal with the "hotter" thermostat? Why the change?

Hopefully the fact the temps are in the ~middle of the guage range means I got it in correct
