Greasy Carpets Beware - Diesel Forum

All new X owners beware...there is someone with a happy hand on the grease gun at the factory. Be sure to check and wipe off the excess black graphite grease from the middle seat tracks. When you slide the seats (be sure to do both) forward the tracks are exposed and mine had alot of grease not only in the track but on top too. Luckily for me my daughter was on the way out and noticed it on her feet. I avoided the grease monster, hopefully you can too!

Thank's for the heads up, I went out today and checked the tracks on mine and they were coated with the black slippery stuff, took 5 or 6 paper towels to get them cleaned up. Definitely avoided a potential carpet stain. I wonder if it was the same grease happy worker? [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif[/img]

Amen to that. My 2 year old nephew got it all over the floor and 3rd seat on the second day I owned mine (got it on his hand when he climbed up first, then steped on the slider and tracked it around). Shows up real nice on the "light parchment". Dealer said, ...never seen that before...Figured it was just my luck. FWIW: You might check the sliders on the front seats too, as I discovered they were pretty greasy also a few weeks later when I pulled out my collapsible windshield shade I store between the seat and console, popped it open and propped it up...now I got grease on the dash too. Thank goodness not the visor or head liner.

I've got the stull 3 piece polished grille. Ordered on line through summit racing. Recieved the next day. Some cutting and trimming is required.

This weekend I pulled the diaper bag out from between the middle seat and the floor. And noticed black grease on the straps could not figure out how it got there. I blamed it on the wife told her she needed to be more careful. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] Now I know Thanks
