Having a problem with the rear wiper washer....

When I move the switch to wash the rear window it takes a while for the fluid to come out. Then it comes out in drops...not a spray. Anyone else have this problem...know of a fix?

Re: Having a problem with the rear wiper washer....

I had my rear wiper arm assy replaced due to dripping washer fluid down the back door panel. I suspect that the installed angle of the wiper at rest was partly responsible. It was angled down and gravity may have caused the fluid to leak.

The new assy was installed in the same position, so when I picked it up, I reinstalled it on the next groove upward on the spline. Hasn't leaked since.

This may not be directly related to your problem. Maybe your tip is plugged. Your dealer should be able to take care of it.

Re: Having a problem with the rear wiper washer....

The rear washer sprayer takes washer fluid from the resivoir in the engine compartment. It could take a bit for fluid to travel the length of the X, but if it is dripping then the line is either plugged or the sprayer is plugged. The dealer should be able to fix this problem, just make sure they put it back together the right way.

I had my X in for hail damage repair (on the roof), and Ford's "collission center" forgot to hook up the rear washer line when they put the headliner back in. Needless to say, when I used the rear sprayer, I heard liquid pooring into the rear cargo mat and my rear window wasn't getting clean. Thank goodness for the floor mat, otherwise I would have had some stained carpet.
