I have an '03 excursion and am having trouble putting light on the road. I have already replaced the original wiring with aftermarket and upgraded to super white bulbs, but I still have a hard time seeing (no it is not me, I drove and F350 and had no problems). I have a xenon kit waiting to be installed, but I am not sure if that will fix it.
If I do not turn on my foglights with it, it looks like I am in the dark. When I look into the lights, they seem bright.
Is there a trick to adjaustiong them? Is it possible that the mirrors behind the lights are bad? They look ok?
"super white" bulbs will be harder to see. If you can see better with the stock driving lights on, you can see the difference. I run with them on as well.
Another thing, the headlight housing scatteres the light more and is less directed which I guess is good and bad.
I have Silverstars and admit, I can "see" the OEM halogens more. It's a myth that whiter light is better. It has to have something to hit.

Get on a country dark road and adjust them. That and getting 80/100 Hella's from web page is this best lighting mod IMHO. Way better that silverstars. That and some clear aftermarket headlights will allow ya to see

80/100!!! that is some power. Stock is 50/80 or so, I have PIAAs with 80/120 and they make the night day. 120 is 456,000 candle watt or so. I would be affraid of those, they are for sure off road only, if a cop saw me with my lights on he would pull me over but I keep them off, they are switched to my high beams so I can give the slow pokes a 120 watts of get out of my way

Don't forget the Brite Box mod. It keeps both the high and low beams on when you have the high beams selected. It makes an extreme difference in rural driving.
You can see what it looks like by pulling back on the high beam selector and holding it back manually.
Its an inexpensive and very easy mod.

Thanks for all your replies. I decided to try the Xenon kit and low and behold, I can see now. Still do not know why I could not see with the stock or bright white, but the issue is cured!
