Question: The Mrs. "X" has the heating synbol on the outside mirrors. Are they supposed to light up when the heat has been turned on??? 2nd
Is it activated by the rear defrost switch?

The symbol is just etched into the mirroring (like the "Object in mirror..." message on car passenger side mirrors) to remind you they're the heated type, not to light up.
On the X they come on with the rear defroster. On the new 2003 lighted signal mirrors (pickups only for now, I think) they are just on all the time, no switch required.
