Heated Seats ?

I am just abount ready to order my X and the wife likes the idea of heated seats. I was wondering how those work. Are there seperate controls for each seat or do they come on together? I can't see any extra buttons in the catalogs, so I hope there not hooked up to the defroster or something.

Thanks in advance....
Rick

Re: Heated Seats ?

The heated seats are fantastic. I'll never get another vehicle without them.

There are two separate controls....one for each seat. The controls are located on outboard side of the seat. Just forward of the power seat controls on the drivers side. If you live in a cold climate...get the heated seats. You'll be glad you did.

Re: Heated Seats ?

Gearguy,

My wife was the opposite. She kept saying "That's a lot of money for something so stupid".

Yeah right, ask her now ! She has the switch about wore out already from turning it on.

Defiantly worth the money in both of our opinions.

Re: Heated Seats ?

Although heated seats might seem superfluous if you merely use them to jumpstart your cold cab for 2 minutes when you first get in your truck, I find them most useful when you are already up and running at "normal" temperature. If one person generally runs hot and the other runs cold, the individual heated seat option will keep both of you happy over the long miles.

Re: Heated Seats ?

I like em so much a retrofitted them in my Powerstroke Bronco. If you have arthritis, they are great on a long trip. I just turn them off and on periodically, and they really help the lower back! Wouldn't own something without them now.

Re: Heated Seats ?

Rule #1: Don't let the wife know you have heated seats.

Rule #2: Don't let her drive your X, ever.

Right now, I'm trying to arrange financing for a second white X Limited PSD 4x4 because I broke both of the rules. It has to have heated seats to keep her happy, and TT mirrors to keep me happy.

Really, they are extremely convenient, especially for how long it takes the PSD to warm up. I plug my truck in on nights that are even 45 degrees, so that it warms up quicker (I'm an EMT, and the seats aren't even warm between home and getting on scene. But there's another reason for that.
At least we'll have twins in the driveway. )

Yea I made the same mistake. I did not even
get home and I had lost my new truck. So I
got another one for me. The wife loves the
heated seats. I did not get them in mine.
Big mistake.

Re: Heated Seats ?

Mark if you do noot mind me asking, about how much did it cost to have them retrofitted? The heated seats were not available when I got my X .

Thanks,
