Hellwig review.

Just got rear hellwig sway bars installed today. Have a 2001 4x4 PSD with bilsteins.

My overall goal for my Ex is to improve ride, handling, and wandering.

Bilstein's were the 1st mod and the biggest improvement in all of the above. 60 PSI helped alot as well.

Then got the Hellwigs installed at an alignment shop. The instructions were truely crap but they eventually figured it out. Took 1 hr and charged 1hr labor. They did a nice job with fitting and greasing the bushings.

In straight line, the hellwigs don't do much to improve the ride or wandering. It stiffens the rear and makes the ride significantly stiffer/harsher. It's most noticeable on medium speeds 30-40 mph on bumpy roads, it's not so noticeable on the freeway.

But the changing lanes/any cornering, the improvements are great! No longer feels like piloting a barge, much more secure/flat/and planted.

Definately worth around $210 installed but some may find the increased stiffness in ride objectionable.

Anothe satisfied customer. Keep an eye on the shock mount bolts. They like to come loose.
