HELP Front Coil springs broke! - Diesel Forum

Hello,

The right front coil springs on my 2wd Excursion has broken. Ford tells me that there are none in existence and that it is an obsolete part. They (Ford)referred me to the Green Sales Company who has nothing.

Any ideas?

There are apparantly several different codes for these JA vs KA vs LA and I have SA.
What are the differences and can I use any of these other than the SA that came on it?

Thanks again - my mechanic is at a loss on how to help me

tried powerstrokeshop.com or fabtech? i am sure these are not obsolete but havent had to search for them. How did it break? also fill in your signature with yr, model etc.

There should be plenty of 250/350 front spings that would work.

Sounds like the J K And L are 250/350 codes
there were likely 3 for the front like RA SA and TA
V8, V10 and Diesel

get the spring code for a crew cab with the same equipment and engine.
they should work fine.

Give us more info like year and engine and we can help more.

What is your code???? you can find it on the drivers door sticker
in the lower right you will see the letters:

SPR
XX YY

the XX is the front and the YY is the rear

It is a 2003 X with a 6.0.

YC35-5310-SA - I think this is the code. If so then Ford can not get me any and no dealerships have them in stock (according to them).

Also I checked Fabtech and they have some as long as you go with the 4in lift.

$40 cheaper at powerstrokeshop.com but they show them as available.
Again OP how was it broken as I have an 00 2wd in the family.

Don't know how it happened, no specific event. I recently began towing a 33ft travel trailer but have had no problems towing and while we thought it occasionally made an odd noise on that side we think it has been broken for a while, and have towed with it like that.

i also experienced that obsolete ford parts but still i tried to search that parts online and there are many sites that still offered obsolete items with low cost of shipping..
