Hensley or Pullrite hitch is it worth the $???

I have a Terry 31 F travel trailer, ans was wondering if anyone out here has teh Hensley or Pullrite hitch on the there X.
If so is reall worth all that money??
It seams tobe the last? / next mod for my rig.
But at this cost it is REALLY hard to get congressional approval if you know what I mean.

Re: Hensley or Pullrite hitch is it worth the $???

All my friends who pull long trailers ... over 28 feet .. have the Hensley. They love it.

When I get my Airstream later this year ... I'll be getting a Hensley too.

Don't cheap out on one of the most critical components of your towing setup. I've heard the Pullrite is an excellent hitch too.

With either one, you will be doing the right thing.

Re: Hensley or Pullrite hitch is it worth the $???

I did not like the sway in my X compared to my '99 SD, so I went with a Hensley.

I have my first pull with it in 3 weeks (TX to OH, about 2500 miles round trip). I will post a note.

The Hensley is a lot of money, but nothing compared to what I have in my X, trailer and restored classic car in the trailer. My SD pulled very well with a simple friction sway control, but my knuckles were still a little white at the end of the day, and my wife refused to drive it at all. Anything, ANYTHING, that makes the tow a little easier on me, and maybe allows the wife to spell me for a couple of hours, is worth serious consideration by me.

I thought about the Pullrite, but it does not stay with the trailer, it is specific to the vehicle, so it is not as versatile. Also, I installed the Hensley easily by myself. Some of the pieces were heavy, but they went together easily enough.

If you read this board much, you know that there are very, very few items that someone doesn't have a negative comment about. I have never read anyone saying anything bad about the Hensley, except the cost. That says a lot right there.

I agree though, either is a good hitch, and I am not bashing the Pullrite at all.

I use a Hensley Arrow with my 41 ft TT and it's worth every cent. I have zero sway in strong crosswinds and passing 18 wheelers.

I'm using a Hensley with a 30ft 9000lb Sunnybrook, and it works just as well as adverised.

Even though its a "load equalizer" hitch I still needed air bags to get the back end back up. I run about 40 lbs using Air Lift.

I use about 20 lbs in my Air Lifts with the third seat out to keep an 18" receiver height.
