How to ID Front Spring Codes?

How can you tell the code type of the front and rear springs by looking at the inside door sticker??

http://pic8.picturetrail.com/VOL235/...3/75607353.jpg

I have looked at my door sticker and at some F250's and it dosn't quite spell it out for you. Is it below the bar code and to the right underneath where it says SPR? If so, are the first two digit aplha the front and the second set the rear? In this case, fronts = "d" codes, rears = "g" codes?

Thanks!!

-Mike

Re: How to ID Front Spring Codes?

You got me!! This picture is from another member's pics. I do not have a digital camera to post pictures as of yet. I could use my SLR but the process and extra steps are kind of a pain. My decal on our X actualy says dg. In reality it is ug.

Thanks for the help guys!!

Mike650--
I see you finally got the "U" codes . Did you get the results you were looking for. As I said to you in our conversation a few weeks ago, the ride should be better than stock . What do you think ? I could tell right away when I changed mine out that this was a good mod.

Re: How to ID Front Spring Codes?

Yes, I like them a lot, thank you!! They really helped improve the handling. I noticed it the first time I took a clover leaf onto the freeway. It was awesome, the front suspension is nice and tight now!! The first day was about them settling in but after that, man, I forgot how our X used to handle real fast!! The appearence of the X has changed as well, the little bit of a lift in the front has given it a more agressive look. Two thumbs up!!

Big thanks to bruce1954, jward, psd_suv, and chpmustang who really went out of their to help me!!!

Happy Holidays,

-Mike

Re: How to ID Front Spring Codes?

That sticker pic is accually of an '05. Anything after September is considered the next model year. I have never understood that. I remember seeing the sticker pic with some other shots of the new X. I wonder why the double letter for the springs on the new ones. Maybe a typo?

If it's not deleting the hood liner then it's doubling up of the coding on the VIN tag.

They've always gotta be changing something just to be different or make it difficult.
