how long has it been taking for diesel orders

thanks for all the helpful information at this forum. ordered my psd excursion end of january. i was wondering how long does it usually take for the psd excursion to make it to my garage? does it matter how many a dealership is allotted. My dealership has 4 v-10's sitting on his lots, but no diesels.
thanks again for all your help.

ordered psd medium steel blue, skid plate, tellescopic mirrors, alluminum wheels

bigdaddydavis

ask your dealer him self as to his allotment of diesel and how many he is allotted each month. then ask him how many people are ahead of him.

Re: how long has it been taking for diesel orders

Well Big Daddy, now that you ask, I'm starting to get excited! I ordered an XLT 4x2 PSD on 1/13. I've checked in a few times during the last five weeks, always to find it unscheduled. Last week I was quite suprised to hear that ir was scheduled to be built the week of 2/28. As of today it is locked, to be built 2/28, with an arrival estimated at 3/29!!!!! I really have no idea what my local dealers allocation was. I wanted to pay $100 over invoice, and didn't care how long it took.

Re: how long has it been taking for diesel orders

My wife ordered her Excursion 4x2 Limited PSD on 1-1-2000. It arrived at the dealership on 2-15-2000. We were expecting to wait much longer. So far we are extremely happy with it. It sure gets lots of looks from others.

Re: how long has it been taking for diesel orders

Ordered 11/25
Expected at the dealer 3/27

We are paying $100 UNDER factory invoice. We are not married, engaged or otherwise attached to the dealer nor holding the dealer's kids to ransom!

To all those who have been running their smack at me about $100 over factory invoice? Hah!!!!

Re: how long has it been taking for diesel orders

Fast Foward,

Like I said in an earlier post, no matter how well one does in negotiating a deal, someone always gets a better deal! $100 under invoice is outstanding. I got mine at $100 over, I'm happy about it, and I should have it in about 10 days.

Regards

Re: how long has it been taking for diesel orders

I don't mean to brag or cut anyone down, but what was said is true--you always find someone who gets a dealer at "the right time" who is able to squeeze that extra hundred out. It's always nice to hear about someone who can stick it to the dealer for a change. I won't mention our final "deal", let's just say "A-plan" and leave it at that.
I washed the beast today, eliminating the salt-hazed gray from it, and I realized again how gorgeous these trucks are. Hope to tow for the first time this week when I move my trailer. Fingers crossed.

Re: how long has it been taking for diesel orders

Ordered Limited on Nov 30 and took delivery Feb 21. Paid less than $100 over invoice. Vehicle drives like a dream and is well worth the wait. Two things wrong so far: Tow wire harness was broken (sheared bolt) and 3rd seat power has no current. Have 424 miles on it (need at least 500 before towing which I plan to do on March 7th). Mileage on trip computer shows 18.7 mpg...not really accurate with so few miles, but encouraging.

Re: how long has it been taking for diesel orders

Guys: I ain't bragging about my deal. As I've said in other posts, to each his own.

All we hope for now is the cost of diesel fuel to come down a little!

Many happy miles to all those that have their beast in the driveway and a short wait to the rest of us!

Re: how long has it been taking for diesel orders

I paid USD 51750 including shipping and preparation to Norway. (Also rebuilt for euro lights). Waited about three months.
By the way, diesel cost is about USD 4.5 per gallon (yes, US gallon). Gas is around 10% more. Oh, I don't pay quite the retail price, but it still is a bit over US prices...
