I'm curious to how many of ya'll have removed the Intrusion bar for Mechanical or cosmetic reasons and what did you do with the frame welded L brackets if they didn't get cut off.

Uhhhh...... blocker beam? Mine's gone - doesn't look very pretty, but the cutting torch left somewhat of a jagged edge - need to dress it up, but hasn't been a priority yet. I had some pics posted on bogginfreaks.com but that quit working - I'll get some up on webshots and get back with a link after I get the time.

I think I shot picture of it after the stock bumper was removed now theres just the welded on L brackets,I was thinking of mounting a set of Fog/driving lights on em'
My buddy wanted to cut em off with the plasma cutter but I wanted to retain em just in case we gotta turn the truck in and I would reinstall everything back.
I'll get some closeup photos of the front end Monday morning and I'll add em to the album

I removed mine when I put the lift kit on because I think it looks better without it. I really want to mount something cool on the brackets but haven't found anything yet. Anybody out there mount something on the brackets?

I'm leaning towards fog/driving lights for the time.

I had mine off to install the PS in-line filter. Just made it easier to get to everything.
I decided to put it back on. You can't really see it up there, and I'm not planning on any mods that will interfere. I figure that it might just help the little buzzbomb that I hit in front of me. That is what it supposed to do. I see no reason to try and see how much damage that I can do. If the blocker beam will help, I think it best to leave it on.
I hate the thought that I could really hurt someone w/o the beam when they would not have been hurt if the beam was there.
Yea that bar isn't as lite as one would think
I put both the stock bumper and the bar into storage JIC

I was in a little accident on Friday in my wives 4x4 PSD Excursion. I was in a parking lot crossing through one of the intersections. I stopped started to roll through when I saw a white blur and felt a big hit on the front passenger side of the vehicle.
I got out and saw that this lady had blindly come out of nowhere and ran into me iwith her little white C-class Mercedes Benz. Well to make a long story short the cops came........no ticket issued. She was going about 15 mph.
What happened.......well.....I am getting a new bumber from a dent in the right side of it and I need an alignment since she hit the tire also. All together $336.
Her Mercedes sustained major damage with the front end being smashed in, a hole in your radiator, broken front lights, and pushing her front quarter panels backwards! A couple grand in damage!
THANK GOODNESS for the blocker beam in the front of the truck....that is what saved me from having anymore damage. It is also a good lesson to those driving German cars.....Once again AMERICAN IRON MEETS GERMAN PRECISION!
Just took a couple pics of the L brackets and they are now in the Album
