how much lift and what size tire is this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=160165635739

How much lift (if any) do you think this truck has? I kinda like the look of this truck and since I need new tires anyway, I was thinking about this type. Any good/bad experiences with BFG A/T's?

Re: how much lift and what size tire is this?

No lift. Just looks like 285's.

BFG's are very rare, hardly any one the road at all.

Obviously I'm kidding. Probably half the 4x4's on the road that aren't OEM tires or huge lifts are BFG's. Although I considered going to BFG's in a load range e this time, I stuck with and prefer Bridgstone Revo's. Awesome wet road traction and no hydroplaning for one, but really awesome traction in any condition. Got 48k out of the 1st set.

Re: how much lift and what size tire is this?

Thanks for the input. I've been looking around at the tire characteristics, and wet road traction is good for me. I get lots of rain here (about 130" per year), but no snow. I'll check out the revo's. I would like load range E if I can, although it might not be necessary. I haven't done the math yet.

Maybe the reason I was drawn to the BFG's is because I see them often? I see alot of swampers and mud terrains, but I do mostly on-road driving and not much heavy off road.

Re: how much lift and what size tire is this?

Had two sets of 295/75/16 on the F250.

First set got 80K miles on all four tires.
Second set had a blow out at 30K and a side wall puncture at 50K, the original two lasted until 70K miles.

Wanting a change put a set of 265/75/16 Ravo load range D on the X and a set of 295/75/16 Nitto Terra Grappler on the F250.

The traction is hands down the best with the Nitto's. The BFG's are great at spitting rocks.

Re: how much lift and what size tire is this?

You can get Load range E Revo's but not in 285's. BFG now has them in 285's.

Even worn (and they still had a lot of tread left when I replaced them) the Revo's didn't slip on wet pavement and no hydro-planing. Simply an amazing tire.

The only complaint is that they do get louder with miles. Mine are on OEM wheels so they are slightly bulged so they don't wear like I'd like them too though. And they will pick up rocks pretty good. They spit them out, but I often just walk around picking smaller rocks out of the tread.

It's the wet road surface traction that is probably the primary reason I stuck with them again.

Re: how much lift and what size tire is this?

I'm going to run factory wheels too, so I guess that's a consideration. Has anyone ever run narrower tires than stock, like a 235/85-16E? Just wondering. I have six almost new tires sitting outside. I think good wet weather traction will be a key consideration for me.

Re: how much lift and what size tire is this?

265's already look too small. 285's look right. I wouldn't go smaller just for the aesthetics. That's what's important right?

Re: how much lift and what size tire is this?

Does anyone know what model the six-hole aluminum wheels were available on (the six round holes, not the Ltd version)? I didn't see them listed in the 2005 sales brochure. This truck is an XLT version, and the sales brochure shows the 8-hole version.

I have new 235/85-16 Bridgstones on my Ex now and they are fine. However.......I have a small lift on it and am about to pull them off for something alittle bigger. I have 2 sets of rims and tires for it now ( 8-hole aluminums, Limiyted "D" series, the Bridgtone 235/85-16's and a set of 255/85-16's). I'm gonna keep the 8 hole rims and the 255's and sell the limited wheels with the 235's.
Anyway.......the 235's look fine on a stock EX (no lift) but if you install any lift a little larger tire looks better IMO.......

Re: how much lift and what size tire is this?

Thanks Randy for the input. Looking at your photobucket picture in your signature line. Those wheels are not factory, and those tires are larger than 235 or 255, correct?
