I could put on 8,000 miles this month alone.

I'm going to be doing a lot of driving this month, so I thought I'd pay especially close attention to the mileage. Here's what I observed after my first day on the road:

Since yesterday, I've burned through 46.625 gallons of fuel and traveled 928 miles, which I think is 19.903485254691689008042895442359 mpg. Suprisingly, that was only .2 less than what the computer said. Not too shabby, considering I was averaging about 75 mph when I wasn't stuck in three seperate traffic jams due to construction. I also had the ac on for most of the day and the temps were in the mid-80s.

The truck is a bone-stock '03 Ex with the 6.0 and about 43,000 miles on the clock (I do have ART rotors on the front). I will report back with updates as the month goes on....if/when I get a chance

NICE!!!

After owning an X how could ya consider anything else!!

My crew cab Toyota gets about 17mpg, and with the whole family in it, ya can't even find room for my laptop let alone anything like luggage or another pair of shoes!

Re: I could put on 8,000 miles this month alone.

Well, I put on a total of nearly 3,200 miles since that trip started and I'm getting ready to head out West on Tuesday for the longer portions of my trip. My fuel calculations went out the window after that initial leg, as I had an opportunity to drive a CTS-V and a GTO from Dallas up to Tulsa and the people driving my Ex for me topped off the tank. In fact, I didn't pay for fuel for the remainder of the trip. I didn't reset the computer and it dropped down as low as 18.5 during the trip and finished off at 18.7. I think that's pretty decent considering I left it idiling for several hours at a time during the trip, with the AC blasting away and encountered a lot of heavy traffic.

We'll see how it does going through the mountains out West now

Re: I could put on 8,000 miles this month alone.

Did you have the lowered white Excursion on Power Tour? If so, I think I passed you at least once, heading south on 43 after GB.

I'm in Missoula, MT tonight. On one tank, the computer said 17.5, when I actually got 16.3 and on the other tank, it said 18.0, when I actually got 17.0. I didn't run the AC much today, but we went through a lot of rain and I had the cruise control set at 82 mph pretty much since the Eastern border of South Dakota. We did take a slight detour off 90 to check out Mt. Rushmore, but other than that we were straight west on 90.

Re: I could put on 8,000 miles this month alone.

Nope, mines more for go than show but it's white . I had a business lunch in Milwaukee on Friday, and I passed that white Excursion going northbound in South Milwaukee. It was a nice rolling car show. The Power Tour stayed the previous night in Arlington Heights where I live, so I got to view the cars all the way north to my exit. Had I known the route, I would have joined in Thursday night. Doh! I went to Minocqua from there, and came down 39/51 on Sunday. My mileage was about 18 for the "loop". Hills, wind, rain, A/C, and traffic traveling at 80 going into Chicago.
